Welcome to Boatshore Cottage by the Sea!
Boatshore is a quirky seafront cottage in a building which dates back to 1690! Traditionally used as a cellar space for fishermen to hang their nets, this dwelling has been lovingly transformed into a cosy little cottage complete with uninterrupted sea views and a private seafront garden just metres from the shore. It features a large livingroom/kitchen with a comfortable sofa bed, a separate double bedroom, a shower room and separate wc. This cottage is perfect for a peaceful seaside retreat for couple & families.
The space
Boatshore is unique in every way and offers a very unusual seaside holiday. The cottage comprises of a large livingroom/kitchen with sea views. The window seat is a new addition to 2022! The large corner sofa turns into a very comfortable double bed. There is also a small wardrobe with an additional drawer space for your belongings and a large chest of drawers.
We started 2022 with a renovation to the kitchen; installing new units and appliances and building a bespoke window seat right to take in the amazing sea views. We then went on to install a brand new combi boiler for cosy central heating and decided it was a good idea to have a brand new shower room too!
There is an under counter fridge with freezer compartment, a two ring electric hob and a fan assisted full sized oven. There is a Bosch coffee machine and we will leave you coffee pods too!
In addition to this room there is an internal room which we call ‘The Cabin’. It has a luxurious new double bed with a scrumptiously comfy mattress and luxury bedding! There is space to store suitcases under the bed and a small wardrobe in the living room. The bedroom has a bedside table and lamp with soft lighting as well as multi point plugs with USB sockets.
There is a separate shower room and w.c, both have locks on the inside of the doors.
The cottage’s best feature is a small private garden complete with patio furniture and a firepit! Our gorgeous 2-man swing is the bee’s knees and swinging in time with the lapping waves at high tide is utterly delightful!
In summertime, the garden gets the sun from about 1pm until sunset giving you spectacular sunsets as it dips behind Fife. From the garden (and beach just in front) you can see from the three iconic bridges, The Forth Bridge, The Rail Bridge and The new Queensferry Crossing right along the entire coastline of Fife.
If we know you are travelling with kids we have a range of beach toys and buckets and spades so that you can travel a bit lighter! We also provide an age-appropriate book bag for night time for our youngest guests.
The cottage is equipped with unlimited free fast fibre, a 42” smart tv with USB ports, a blueray player and an old fashioned radio! Apps such as Netflix are installed so just log yourself in! We have also downloaded the Disney+ Channel complimentary. We also keep a large number of dvds, games, jigsaws and books for all ages.
Guest access
The entire cottage and private garden is yours for the duration of your stay. There is free unlimited parking on street.
Other things to note
Boatshore is a peaceful place nestled in a row of fishermen’s cottages. We recommend it for a retreat, a family holiday or a romantic getaway. We do not recommend you come here to party- we do not accept Stag or Hen Dos! We like our neighbours and more importantly – they still like us 😉
